Pooch I ve tryed everything you said, and everything is in order, no problems. Any other suggestions?
Try these ideas after each one test if the ports are working.
1. Try uninstalling every usb device and then restarting the computer. You might be asked by windows to restart the computer again do as it asks. The ports will be automatically reinstalled.
2. Try reinstalling your chipset driver. If you dont have a cd with drivers then try the manufacturers website or ask.
3. Go to C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\usbstor_xxxx. Copy usbstor.inf usbstor.PNF USBSTOR.SYS and paste them into the C:\Windows\INF folder. select Copy and Replace, if asked. Reboot and try your ports.
4. Go to device manager and disable the standard enh.anced pci-usb host controller Check your ports Dont forget to re-enable if it doesn't work
5. If you have Daemontools orAlcohol installed try uninstalling them.
If the ports are still not working you will most probably have to reinstall Vista as this could be the result of a bad update.
I hope this little list helps
