Solved Disable check disk at start up
I had a bad "driver install" and windows tried to do a fix/repair and in doing so it has "check disk" running at start up.I would like the "registry fix" to disable this.Upon checking the registry hkey local machine\system it lists "controlset001" and "controlset003" which appear to list the exact same keys.Is this normal? Krd,
You will just need to change the value to this below instead to stop chkdsk from running at startup. The value you have above is to have chkdsk run at startup.
autocheck autochk*

Brink I changed the value to ..autocheck autochk *...but on my next reboot it still did the disk check.I searched my notes here from when I had this problem before and luckly found this value...autocheck autochk /p \??\C:autocheck autochk * I am very cautious when it comes to the Registry but took a chance on changing this value and this did disable check disk as my boot up time has been restored to 1min 4sec.Sorry to drag this out Brink but I would just like you to confirm that I'm using the correct value now.
