Desktop black and Dreamscene problem

Hi
got vista ultimate 32 - my desktop is gone black AND dreamscene option is greyed out
any suggestion would be greatly appreciated guys

Hi Exlaval,

Welcome to Vista Forums.

DreamScene will do this if your computer was improperly shutdown. For example, a forced manual restart with the case restart or shutdown button.

You can usually fix this by changing the Desktop Background to a standard wallpaper, afterwards go back and change it back to the Dreamscene you wanted.

thanks guys

actually the solution was a bit dumber
the wife in one of the tries to reset the dreamscene hit by accident
the "hide desk icons" options
so the "show desk icons" did the reset as it should
for the life of me i still don't understand the reason for this option to begin with
anyone?

Your welcome Exlaval. I'm glad to hear that you got it fixed now. Strange, it must have hung up on you while changing the settings. I can Hide/Show my desktop icons without Dreamscene blanking out on me.
