CPU spike problem?

guys. i believe this problem of mine is related to a dirty computer. xD i forgot to mention one teeny weeny thing. i havent cleaned my laptop internally since i bought it. this is because i am afraid of voiding my warranty of three years. itd be a waste of extra $300 just to clean it off. i just noticed this when i noticed my fan isnt operating the way it should be. its much more quiter and probably less RPMs? anywayz, anyone know a brighter solution? are coolpads worth the money? do they work? =]

Coolpads work quite well. I use one for an HP laptop that runs pretty hot and it keeps the temperature under control. But why would you void your warrenty if you blast some compressed air thru the vents?

what do you mean compressed air? and how do you get it? :D

_______EDIT_________

i researched on compressed air can, and its pretty expensive. around 16-20 NZD. im planning to buy one if its very effective. qustion though, how does it clean? will it damage my laptop? and would a blow dryer work? cold blow dryer of course. =]

You can get it in little cans (about the size of a Coke can) in Home Depot or a comparable shop in your country. They are not expensive here.

Blow dryer does not enough have pressure. You might also try your next gas station - if the have a compressor to blow up the tires.

I would be very careful using a commercial compressor.
I'm not saying don't do it, just be very careful.

wont damage it!!? it very well could do that, a blow drier (if you hold it on your hands can reach over 100 degrees Celcius) Most CPU's experience an extreme max heat of 75-80 degrees celcius (at this heat they normally shutdown your pc and turn off) if you apply that heat from a blowdrier for over 30 seconds I guarantee some damage will occur. (remember the side of your laptop only has one air vent, so all that kinetic energy from the heat must go somewhere, it will affect your internal components.

send it in because it is under warranty and tell them what is happening. They will most likely replace the fan for you and clean the dust out.
