hello iam hoping some body can help

i have reloaded window last night every think has gone fine and the computer is just as fast as it use to be BUT i have updated my wei and it came back with 5.9 for every think but the cpu which use to be 5.9 but now is 5.4

i then installed cool and quit of the asus driver disc to find that it says it is runing 1300 and not 2600 which is what the cpu is
but if you go into the bios it says it is runing 2600 and the clock timing is set to auto
i have manualy put in 2600 in on the seting but cool and quite still see it as runing 1300

like ive said the system does not sem and slower but i would like to now what is wrong

i have update the bios and the cool and quite to the lateist one

thank you

The lower speed is windows lowering your cpu's clock speed to save electricity. Whenever windows is doing nothing it will drop to a set speed (in your case 1300mhz) & when your cpu is needed to perform a demanding task it will revert back to 2600mhz.

notice my processor's speed when im running winrar

Don't AMD processors need to be installed? check your device manager to see if windows is reporting it installed ok.

If you want your computer to always run at top speed then you need to go into your BIOS to turn off the speed step and c1e funtion or whatever the AMD equivalent is.

it use to run at 2600 all the time before ive tryed altering the seting in the bios i can get it up to 1501 before it starts crashing
the only other thing that skips to mind is the power supply the only reson i had to reload every thin the other night was because the computer would switch on but not load up and it turned out to be the power supply
it is a module power supply and i try making sure all the pins where in and the computer did re start
