Correct "My Computer" view
I installed an update today (USB composite device dc3d) and it changed my DVD RW drive from "hard disk drive" to "devices with removable storage" I think DVD RW drives are supposed to be classified as "devices with removable storage" I was wondering if this #1 Matters #2 is correct #3 will cause any problems. Any thoughts? What does your "my computer" view show your DVD RW drive type as. Thanks.

CD drives should be classified as removeable storage, why yours was showing up under hard drives I can't begin to guess.

Thank you for the responses. I have no idea why for 5 months it showed as a hard drive. I used it all the time and had no problems with it. Very strange. I also notice now that Vista is "loosing" it's folder settings. I have to go to Brinks folder tutorial. Something happened this morning with these updates. There was a defender and a USB driver update.

The updates may have reset the settings in your registry, so you should be able change the settings back.
