Confirmed: Office 2010 will come in 32-bit, 64-bit flavors

Last month, a very believable rumor started flying around in regard to Office 2010 shipping in 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Check out ZDNet and Within Windows to see how the conclusion was drawn. Everything pointed to Microsoft finally offering a 64-bit flavor of its Office suite, previous versions of which have only shipped in 32-bit or 16-bit flavors. In an e-mail exchange with Ars today, a Microsoft spokesperson confirmed that Office 2010 will be available in both flavors: "Yes, Office will have two separate 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Office 2010 will be the first to do this."

Microsoft is finally doing the right thing with the new version. Now only if Adobe would make a flash player for 64 bit.

I hope they make improvements from the 2007 Suite :) Which although its the current Suite, I have & must say 2003 Suite had by far a more friendly user-interface (i have my mom's computer still with Office 2003 lol)

Can't Wait for that 2010 release!! It shall me a new world :>

I bought my pc with 64x Vista and Office 2007, and it works without any problems. I dont know if its 64x??? It should be, right? Actually the x64 has the capacity to run most x32 programs as well, just don't over do it as it can cause instability.

The x64 Vista sadly didn't go too far.. I was expecting it to take off when I bought the system. But the truth is I bought my computer at the wrong time (but I needed it when i bought it, so). Aside all the complaints & critics it has received I like the 64x tho, as complicated as it is, I find it interesting to better myself with the OS as in a new learning experience. I havent had problems with it yet, lucky for me.. BUT, Now the hype is Windows 7, which is by far superior to Vista from what Ive heard.

Oh well!! Hopefully they'll keep doing programs compatible with Vista 64x.. Im glad to hear Office 2010 is one of them, since its essential in any part of the world, either as a student or employee in any field ;)

Great news, and I personally think that MS Office 2003 Had a better user-interface, as djfla posted here; my dad has it on his laptop. And he still uses XP lol...:o
