Actually Kaspersky's KIS Firewall ranked Very Good in the latest Matousec testing, (<< click link for results) just below Comodo Firewall Pro. I'd say that since CFP is free and KIS isn't, as long as you have an active license for KIS I'd stick with that but as soon as your license runs out I would be tempted to say switch to CFP.
One thing of note, and Abiosis makes a good point about this...CFP can be somewhat overwhelming for a newer user who's not quite up to a considerable amount of interaction with their firewall at first.
CFP does help allot with your decision making when a connection popup arrives tho, you can click on the process/exe name and in the details it tells you who owns it and more about what it's for. For many newer users tho, it's simply too much to handle at first and they soon start turning off features or go to a lesser firewall with less user interaction required.
before upgrade to x64,I'm using Zone Alarm SS with x86 Vista...
while they don't support x64 platform (I don't get it why they don't catch up with reality that x64's the way to go)
That's funny....I could've SWORN that ZA released a 64bit Firewall product a little while back...
Maybe they did but hadn't done enough proper testing & pulled it because of that, or maybe I'm just mistaken that CheckPoint released a 64bit ZA version. Either way, I looked for one over there and couldn't find one, so...
I know they're working on one, everyone is putting most of their future effort into supporting 64bit completely as they well should, because you're SO right that x64 is the future of OS's and they all know it.
i have one other question..i've almost a week since i installed CFP, and since then in the network defence it says "The firewall has blocked 0 intrusions so far"
the security level is in safe mode, and i don't know if the firewall is working correctly, since it hasn't blocked any intrusions..Is this normal?

no i don't have a router. i have a simple sagem modem, which doesn't have a built in hardware firewall.
what i am worried about is that in xp, i have zone alarm and the number of intrusions blocked are running like crazy
Nikost, I must admit that I'm not sure why is not blocking any intrusions for you if your not getting your network from another hardware firewall or relayed off another computer. It seems to blocking them fine for me though.
COMODO should be listed in the Security Center. If not, I would uninstall COMODO and then reinstall it without any other firewall program installed or turned on (Windows Firewall).
Correction. You should only have one *real time* AV scanner installed.
You can have as many as you want installed, but make sure only one is the active one. If you have more than one active, things get screwy.
I also recommend you get a good portable AV and install it on a USB Flash Device (commonly called thumb drives) because the UFD can be left in a safe place and be used only when you need to use it to confirm scan results.
