Codec problem

I am new to Vista Forums, but am wondering if someone out there could help me. I do transcription work from home and recently had my Dell "scrubbed" and "cleaned". I am now trying to access my wav files and Media Player is giving me a Codec error. Any idea how I can download to listen to wav files. I am absolute novice when it comes to this stuff, so any help would be appreciated. I would really love to be able to hear my wav files. I have had this computer for one year and up until one week ago had no problems with the wav files, but not cannot access them.

Download Vista Codec Package 5.4.7 - With this package installed, you shouldn't need to install any other codec or filter - Softpedia

You can also use this player ( Download VLC Media Player 1.0.3 RC1 - FileHippo.com ). It plays nearly anything.
