can't see Logging and ICMP Setting on Windows Firewall Settings/ Advanced, Help Plz

Re: can't see Logging and ICMP Setting on Windows Firewall Settings/ Advanced, Help P

Hi, first of all, i have to say sorry coz im who asking for help, not you.
okay ... here we go,
Network-Connections :
#1 and #2 are the same, in both i can connect to the MOBI internet connection, (MOBI is my network connection Company name, and here is the site mobi.tm)
so, there is no difference between #1 and #2, #1 it is a simple dial up connection, and #2 is a Mobi Connection Manager, and i will post pix for both of them (#1 and #2).
#3 - "Local Area Connection" it is a Realtek Modem connection, and i never use it.
#4 - "Local Area Connection 2" it is a (MOBI) iBurst Terminal USB Modem, this one i use to enable to connect to the internet through Mobi Connection.
#5- VirtualBox, it is Virtual Connection and i didnt use it yet, i will use it just when i want to use the Linux OS or Backtrack, so now im not using it.
#6 - "Broadcom 802.11" Wireless Network Connection, i dont use it coz i dont have Wirless Connection.
#7 and #8 both are for VPN Connection, i tried to connect through them few days ago, just to check if i will get report through them or not. (but it dosent work)
so only #1 (or #2) + #4 is what i need to connect to the internet.
and here is the pix ...

Hi,

Try this: -

Activate the Client for Microsoft Networks in this iBurst connection.

Then bridge the two connections, if that fails (As per sharing issue) start to delete the ones you have created (Start with 7 & 8).

Then try to bridge the connections after each deletion, until they bridge.

In the worst case you should end up with connections listed (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6).

Re: can't see Logging and ICMP Setting on Windows Firewall Settings/ Advanced, Help P

How do you get your IP addresses, DNS addresses, WINS addresses, and Default Gateway? Looking at the IPCONFIG/ALL for the iburst terminal connection, you have an IP of 169.168.x.x (which means that connection is not connecting to the internet), no default gateway, no valid DNS addresses, Netbios over TCP/IP is disabled, etc. In effect, you are not connected to the internet by a router, modem, or a DHCP service that's providing that information - it is not connected. That is why it says limited or no connectivity. It probaby also explains why it won't bridge.

Looking at the Mobi IPCONFIG, you have DHCP disabled and it lists no default gateway. I believe these may be causing some of the problems. You need to enable DHCP from Mobi (using Mobi setup) or setup a local network that does it and set it to provide IP addresses and DNS addresses, configure the connections to use a default gateway (which should be static), enable Netbios over TCP/IP for the terminal, and possibly set defined DNS addresses for the terminal if they aren't being automatically configured or set by Mobi (but enabling DHCP should do that). I also believe you need to enable Network Discovery on the main page (not positive there - but I think it might help). Also, I think you need to change #4 to a private network instead of a public network.

I'm not entirely certain about some of this because I've never seen a setup like yours before, but I can say with certainty that your IPCONFIG report is messed up and you'll never be able to accomplish your objectives until changes are made to fix the problems I noted above. As you don't use a router, I'm not quite sure where to make the changes in your setup - there must be some Mobi configuration manager or tool to do this. I suggest you contact Mobi and see if their technical support people can help you.

I hope this helps or at least gives you some ideas to try.

Good luck!
