Hi Everyone,
I've been dealing with a problem here and can't seem to figure it out...
I've a Dell Inspiron 531 (givin to me) that won't connect to internet except
through modem. I have other computers (with Vista) that don't seem to have a problem finding the LinkSys router but this one won't. It connects just fine when plugged straight into the modem but when I plug it into the router it constintly tells me
"A Network Cable is Unplugged". I've swapped out cables and uninstalled the network adaptor but still won't find the router. All drivers are up to date.
I"ve installed a PFPortchecker program that when I run a check for port "80" "UDP" says "Your Port is OPEN!" but "TCP" says "Could not test port 80 because some other application has the port locked..."
I don't know what was changed (if anything) prior to getting the comp but from my understanding it was working fine.
Any Ideas?
