So I ran the CCleaner to scan and fix the registry and there were many issues. I noticed that a few of them had to do with the COM that you guys mentioned earlier, so I was hopeful. I rebooted after this and played COD. I was actually able to play two full games, for about half an hour, but again the game froze. I tried it once more, and it only lasted 5 minutes before it froze. What I am finding the most surprising is that the game does not even lag or give me any reason to think that it is experiencing problems. Just an immediate freeze and that's the end of my sniping rampage.

Just to recap, I have done the following:
-Virus scan
-Malware scan using Malwarebytes
-sfc scan several times
-checked to make sure DCOM and RPC services are started and enabled
-scanned my registry using CCleaner multiple times

All to no avail. Any new ideas are welcome.

Go into you event viewer and write down or save the first page into your documents or a screenshot will do, then go and play COD and let it freeze a couple of times then recheck your event viewer and make a copy and send both the screenshots to us. This way we can see what is going on there has to be a leed somewhere as to what is going on. So if it be possible for you please send the screenshots so hopefully we can diagnose it and then find a cure so to speak. lol

Thanks

Also run a health report and send us a zipped file.

I've been busy with school for the past few days so I haven't had a chance to run a health report or anything, but I'll get it to you as soon as I get a chance.

thanks.

Hello again,

I found some time to do as you said. I launched COD to see if I could replicate the freezing, and to my extreme surprise, I was able to play freely for hours without it ever freezing. I played the game and exited as you would normally. However, I did nothing to fix it within the past few days so I suspect this may be a "fluke". I will continue to try to replicate the problem and then post the screenshots and the health report.

Hello,
Well now there's good news! Enjoyed the playing no doubt!
Don't forget you did work with it some days ago, with AV & malwarebytes etc, so it is possible that after settling down it is now going to work.
However, we never quite reached that definitive decision as to what actually caused the problem.
But I'm sure with the work you carried out contributed to its recovery.
Please enjoy your games of COD & post the items anytime.
Thank's for keeping us updated.
Happy Gaming.

I'm back. As I said in my last post, it seems that my last time playing COD was a fluke. I launched it today and it froze as soon as I entered a game. I took a screenshot of the event viewer before and after the freeze. I'm not sure what you are looking for, but I took a screenshot of both the application and system events. I also ran the health report and saved it as an html. For some reason, it is not recognizing my anti-virus software, but I do have it. Please let me know if you see anything unusual.
