building new gaming pc...

I'm going to be building my new pc on the weekend, i have the following system specs;

mb: asus rampage 2 extreme intel x58 chipset
cpu: intel core i7 965 3.20ghz (new nehalem)

rams: kingston 6gig pc3 14400c8 hyperx intel xmp
gfxs: 2x geforce gtx 280 1gig memory gddr3
sound: creative sound blaster xfi elite pro 7.1
hd's: 2x intel x25-e extreme 32gb 2.5" / seagate barracuda 7200.11 1.5tb 32mb cache
psu: corsair hx 1000w atx2.2
case: zalman lq1000 hybrid liquid cooled
monitors: 2x 30" nec multisync lcd 3090wqxi
os: vista ultimate x64

will be getting the lastest razer keyboard,mouse,mouse mat,headphones
cant wait to get it built up & running... will get piccys soon!


first game i will play is crysis

I dont think what you are building is enough, you probably wont be able to play any game on high settings, let alone crysis on low!!! I would just trash what you have and start over with decent parts....

that is a SUPER lineup, might i suggest 3x 20'' monitors, as this will be much better for gaming, otherwise you have the screen split is in the center....??

you may want to take a look over here if you haven't already...

EDIT: hang on have those monitors got no DVI..?? DONT BUY THEM if so, although saying that i think the digital splitter is a lot more expensive than the analouge one (though im no expert on multi monitors)

You should consider the 4870. Gtx is quite a costly card compared to 4870, but seems like ur going all out, why not push ur memory to 8gb? And ur going for a $1000+? Wtf do you need that much processor speed for.. 2.3 quad does the job wonderfully for me. 8gb ram makes up for speed.

Developers wont bring games out for another 5 years that will even push ur specs off the charts.

2x30" is insanity. you obviously got money coming out of ur ass.
