I am running Vista ultimate x64 and sometimes when i am just surfing the internet a blue screen error comes up. The error either says "Page fault in non paged area" or it says "IRQL is not less or equal". Can someone please explain what these mean and/or how to fix it. Thanks.
This can also be a sign of bad memory frequency or timings. Are you running an overclockable Laptop?
I have gotten these errors from 3 things. OCing my memory, accidently bumping memory DIMMS (dont ask lol), and certain programs that overflow the system memory causing it to crash. but if this happens when your just using the internet, then it can most likely be a sign of memory stability.

Im not sure with an OEM laptop then. Does this happen often? or does the laptop get bumped around a bit? but try reinstalling some of your main hardware drivers like the others have said and see if they fix the problem.

The next time you get an error there should be about 4 or 5 codes that look similar to c5000042 with a small x. write down these codes and any file names that are present. The bad pool error points towards memory but it could be caused by software failing or the harddrive failing and supplying incorrect data. If you have a look at computer management click on start then right click on my computer then choose manage. This will give you the option of event viewer, which will tell you about errors encounterd.
