Blue Screen DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (d1)

Hi and welcome. this dump was caused by usbuchi.sys which is part of the Microsoft USB miniport driver. I noticed 2 things first you have SP1 not two that in itself would help, and two the date on this driver is somewhat old. I would suggest Re-installing the usb driver and upgrading to sp2. If you have a backup that you can restore from that would also be a work around. Another workaround is to run the system file checker (SFC /scannow) to see if ther are any errors

Good luck

Hi Ken

Not sure where my last post went since I can't see it here

In the meantime still I did a sfc/scannow and it came with a good result (no integrity violations found).

How can I find which USB driver requires update, since there are many different ones under the device manager/USB controllers?

Thanks

PS I am running Ultimate 64bit SP2 on that machine even if the machine to post this message is on Vista Business SP1.

Update them all via device manager.

Type devince manager in search. then look for "unknown" devices with yellow triangles on them. get the numeric string from that device and google it. It should tell you who the mfr is etc. do the unknown ones first. then work till it stops puling and dieing on you

Hello Frostmourne and Ken

Thanks for the feedback, I will go through the device manager and try updating all drivers for all USB controllers, even if none are showing a yellow triangle to indicate an unknown device.

Should I get a new blue screen I will post again here.
