Solved AVS Audio Converter

I have a registered copy of the AVS software suite. All of the programs worked fine. Now, the Audio Converter does not open. It appears in task manager as a process but not as an application. The process is still taking up 50% of the CPU. Any way to make the window appear

It sounds as if one of the strings has become corrupted (or something along those lines), I would recommend that you reinstall the software, or alternatively (if there is an option) then you should select repair when you run the uninstaller.

Selecting repair should find the faulty files and fix (or replace) them.

Hmm... have you tried a system restore to before you noticed the problem?

Or would it be of any use to you for me to give you instructions?

I did a system restore to 1 week ago, before i even installed the programs. Strangely enough the programs were still installed!

I then uninstalled and reinstalled the software suite and the same problem still arises

Seems like a dead end to me?

Seem to have found something...

in the AVS program files folder:

there are two folders for the particular program

one contains:

the other contains

could this be to do with the problem????

Yes, that looks likely because the .exe files will try to find the extensions in the same root directory.

Try merging the two folders and then run the program. (So copy the two .exe files into the AVSAudioConverter6 folder)

I have now uninstalled the converter and delete all the folders with it and reinstalled, still doesn't work!

Hmm, have you tried running the program as an administrator?

Contact AVS and get their removal tool. Also there are other files you will have to remove
C:Program Files\AVS
C:Program Files\Common Files\AVS

Why would he need a removal tool? He has already uninstalled it.

You should uninstall it again, then install CCleaner (Piriform - Download CCleaner, Defraggler, Recuva, Speccy - Millions of users worldwide!) and clean up anything that the software will have left behind. Then try and install it again

Because the program version I have says you need one.

How is this any different to uninstalling it normally and what do i look at in task scheduler
