I would check to see if its better to get a faster CPU or better video card. Some games need the better video card. Most games play fine on a 2.4 GHz CPU.

I used Opterons on my last build. The Xeons are better.

Yeaaaaa im with pizza man on this one :) ive been waiting for these chips and im glad debut price for the 940 is only around 275-300. like he said, now i just need some cash :). Im not going to leave out the gpu though because my card has been getting older and older and needs to be retired. cheers for AMD. i still will never buy an intel chip, and i never have so far lol:party:

I would wait for the 2nd generation of the new i7. I don't like being the first one. Most processors can handle the games. Put the $300 towards a better video card.
