Acer M1640 Won't Boot Up

Vista Basic Home - Acer Aspire M1640
Intel Dual Core
E2160 1.8 GHZ

2 G Memory
320 G HD
DVD Writer
CD-Rom

Will not boot up

Recognizes HD & DVD [BIOS] ... but after Acer Flash Screen ... screen goes black with

flashing white line top left corner ...... Any ideas??

Anyone else have this happen ...what was cause

can you get in safe mode? start tapping the f8 key at the acer logo...see if theres a "last known good configuration"..good luck

If you can get to safe mode, type this, in a cmd prompt. From an administrators account type cmd in search. In cmd type this fixmbr \Device\HardDisk0

It should rewrite the Master Boot Record.
