I have a 169 ip address that i cant seem to find a fix too, i have googled and tried all the fixs but nothing is working. It started not working when my phone went down (fixed now) if that has to do with anything, Im on my mac right now thats connected to the router.

A 169.254 address is assigned to a host (computer) when it cant find a DHCP server. That server is responsible for handing out addresses. So, what we can do is assign an address to it. If you know the routers IP address that is the Default gateway, the subnet mask will be 255.255.255.0 and your computers IP will be exactly the same as the routers except the last digit. Example:
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
IP address: 192.168.1.30
DNS servers:
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
IP address: 192.168.1.30
DNS servers:
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
