Internet Connection Sharing Vista to XP

Hi !

I can't make it work : how do you connect a XP (with Internet connection) to a Vista (so that it has Internet connection) via a Ethernet cable ?

It worked well when I had two XP computers : I just ran Magix Wizard (or so) and HOP! It was done !

With Vista, you don't have any Wizard! The only magic trick is how your computer makes you then :huh: then then :sa: then or or

Please help me! I've been searching the Internet, forums and all for days and I still doesn't have a clue!

I would be so :D if you could give me a hand on that ! Thank you in advance a million times for even trying!

As well as mansrm81's question what type of cable are you using, straight through or cross over ?

I'm connecting to the Internet via a Sagem Fast 800. It's a modem, wired to my telephone line, and plugged into a USB slot.

I'm connecting to the Internet via a Sagem Fast 800. It's a modem, wired to my telephone line, and plugged into a USB slot.

First you will need a router,(wired or wireless), two Ethernet cables of desired length, if your going wired. If it's two desktops would go wired, though adding wireless pci cards is not to hard. Then follow the instructions that come with the router. Generally pretty straight forward and you will have both computers up and running on the net in about 15 minutes.
