Having problem with a Removable disk F driver on my laptop

I've become the new owner of a previously used laptop and having problems removing a removable disk F driver. I get it uninstalled/removed and when I re-start vista it's back. I want to remove it as I can't download iTunes on to the laptop is it always wants to load it onto the F driver (F driver was an Toshiba external hard drive that had iTunes on it). I've also tried to un-install the Toshiba device hoping that would solve the problem but as soon as I re-start the laptop it re-installs. I'm losing the will to live now as it's beat me!

You may want to search and also read the comments to be certain running the exe didn't cause any disasters. Also making a Restore Point before trying it is a good idea(a complete image backup would be even better.)

Heh heh. Or even better, a docking station and once again "cheap" WD black internal bare drives. I think USB 3.0 docking stations are down around $20 now. The WD 1 TB look like they've dropped to less than when I used to buy 'em. Less than $80 + shipping for Sata III.

I hope I can set up a real computer room belore too long. It looks like a good time to start again.

Yep. The setup I used to have was 2 towers on the floor, small table with one keyboard and monitor, speakers, kvma switch. And of course network stuff strewn all over. Every time I put a card in a tower I had to crawl around on the floor. A real pita. Next time big work benches with everything at waist level.

I can see we'll soon be banned for thread hijacks if not careful.

Oh yes - managed to get it to work but still cant get iTunes to load. Will get there eventually - won't beat me
