Mouse touchpad cover coming off

I`ve got an Asus Z53E laptop that it`s about 2 years old.
This week I realized that my mouse touchpad cover is coming off, but looking underneath the cover I can`t see anything to be able to screw it back in. I`m guessing here that it`s glued to the laptop?
Any advice would be appreciated. If I Should glue it back together before the touchpad cover totally comes off, what kind of glue should I use?





This is what I mean by Touchpad cover. Just what is around the touchpad in my Asus, everything works fine at the moment, but this cover keeps the buttons protected, so it`s important.

Does anyone have any ideas?
For some reason this is a subject I haven`t been able to find the solution looking on Google, as a usually do. Just wanted to make sure I won`t spoilt my laptop putting some glue to stick this touchpad cover together.

I'm sorry but for this kind of work perhaps it would be best to take it to a repair shop.

Hello cosmicpeace,
From looking around, the only suggestion i saw was rubber cement, however, i am not endorsing this, instead, i would suggest you pick the brain of a repair person, if able.
Then , if you really want this done properly, as has been suggested, best way is to just pay a repair shop to do it for you. Good luck with this. Post back was the final result was for others to learn, as i found this issue needs to be known to us regular people. Someone is apparently keeping this a secret. LOL

I was about to take my laptop for repair, & I emailed a friend of mine that suggested just masking taping it so I wouldn`t need to spend money on it.
Funny enough, after his suggestion I thought of the little double-sided sticky foam pads that I use for my handmade greeting cards. I cut them to size, & stuck the touchpad cover back with them, & it works just fine...just a low budget solution for the moment. See what happens!:D (thinking of heat & glue, but so far so good...)

You are very welcome, i had not thought of double side sticky tape, yeah, that will probably be best next to just taking it to a repair shop. I am still thinking that there must be a way to just get someone who works at one to find out for you.

Oh yeah, this is just a short-term solution. I will pop to a repair shop next week & ask, cos it could be something really simple that may be we can do ourselves!
