Help B.S.O.D After Windows Updates & SP2

Hey guys i installed service pack 2 and other updates on this computer and now when i log into the computer the vista sound freezes and it will do a memory dump. It did this twice one at boot up and installing updates. I have never had any problem like this before and i'll put all the information about the error and the computer i am using. I hope this helps

The most important:

Probably caused by : SYMEFA.SYS ( SYMEFA+37c49 )

This driver comes from NIS.You have to uninstall it.Use this tool Download and run the Norton Removal Tool

to uninstall it

ok i read your files and why would Norton cause this to happen i haven't got the blue screen since i made this post. I am using that computer to make this post.

I don't know.Many people have this issue after SP2 installation.It is rather question for Symantec.

That is not equivallent you will never have any bluescreen or freezing due to NIS.I rather suspect you will have again after a while...

Possible it will be enough to workaround this is turn off Idle Time Scan in NIS 2009 options <-you can try it although I'm not guarantee it will work.

O crap i forgot to say this i just reedited this message to tell you this:

I have a program that is called TuneUp Utilities 2009 OMG The best system fixer on the planet. I so recommend this program.

My computer had so many problems like when you turn on the computer it would sit at the Microsoft screen for 1 to two minutes and load up was so slow two (we all know msconfig for that but this works better)

all to gather the computer would take 7 minutes from pushing the power button to loading up google.

now it takes 17 sec from that. i have never seen anything so fast for boot up in my life till i met TuneUp Utilities 2009

It fixed my programs and memory dumps & my start menu recent items for clearing them out i use to get a error not anymore so fast and so reliable i would merry the program lol
