hello,
this is my first post, recently i'm facing a problem with my laptop........in tht unable to download or install any programs or s/w, unable to view videos in youtube. When ever trying to install the adobe flash player getting error on the screen like operating system error!(16248.203.296-7327........) and also facing problem when installing activex control through internet explore information bar showing tht your security settings do not allow websites to use Activex controls installed on your computer. So could anybody solve to overcome my problem.

Have you been in the Internet Explorer Options and enabled Active X Controls? if not do so see what that does.

since you seem to have some system problem we should try something really simple. You can run a system file check. it verifies and tries to fix your system files. to run it you go to start>search>type cmd>right-click and run as admin>type sfc /scannow

Good hope it is current. It needs to be disabled while applying service pack 2

how 2 disable it? i tried by right clicking on icon which is located at the bottom of the screen but it's not disable. Is there any way 2 disable?

Am not sure but this might work.

Start>> type "msconfig" w/o quotes in the start search

Now in the system configuration window go to the "services" tab and uncheck all of the McAfee stuff, then go to the "startup" tab and uncheck all of the McAfee stuff. Check the whole list in both tabs and make sure u uncheck the right ones.

Restart pc and try SP2.

Irrespective of your success installing SP2 , open msconfig and check all that you unchecked earlier and restart before doing anything else.

You should probably wait for someone to confirm what i said.

Do you have administrative rights? Try creating a new user and see if you can d/l from there.
