as i live in a remote area my broadband speed is irritating slow, and when i want to download a big file or movie it takes ages and i mean ages. So as you can imagine i really want to maximize my speed.
I do this on my mac by using a program called little snitch this allows me to stop and allow all programs access to the internet, thus meaning that only the programs i want are online at any one time. So when i am downloading my movie i am only downloading my movie and not un-necessarily checking every 5 second for updates for avg or 360 security.
you might not think it makes any difference but i'm telling you is does (on my mac any way)
so i am looking on a program or a way to setup my firewall that allows me to do the above.
