computer shutdown after a while

My pc was working fine before i left,and when i came back home(in 5 hours) i find it OFF,any ideas?

It all depends on your power settings. After a period of inactivity , i.e. no keyboard or mouse input, my computer starts shutting things down in order to conserve energy. Firstly, the screensaver comes on (except that I don't have that feature enabled, so it moves directly to the next step). After a further period of inactivity, the monitor powers down. At this point, the system is still fully powered up, and any input from the keyboard or mouse is sufficient to activate the monitor again. If no such input is detected after a further period of time, then the status of the computer (i.e. the RAM contents) is written to the HDD and the system powers down completely. I can switch it off altogether and unplug it without any problem - the next time that I power it up it will resume from where it was before it powered down.
