Hi again everyone.
I'm finally getting this laptop sorted out, but it still has one definite problem with wireless connectivity. It's an Acer Aspire 5810T with Vista Home Premium SP1, router is a Belkin.
Pretty much every time I bring it out of sleep, the wireless connection to the internet is lost. It loses internet randomly during normal use, and I can usually resolve that by disconnecting/reconnecting from the network. However, after sleeping that won't restore Internet access. I get a good connection to the network, but it's "Local Only." I also noticed I can't access my router via the browser either.
The Windows diagnose & repair thing says it's a problem with the modem or router and recommends rebooting those (way to pass the buck, Vista. :P) All other computers are running XP Pro never have this problem, never had it on my old XP laptop, etc.
I already updated wireless drivers by going into the device manager and selecting "Update driver software," and disabled the power saving option to "turn off this device to save power" for both network adapters. The router firmware is up to date. Help?
Note: I found this: http://www.chicagotech.net/netforums/viewtopic.php?t=857&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight= Not sure if it's applicable? Is it worth a shot?
Thanks everyone! I promise to give back to this forum after a few more months and I'm a Vista master.
