Solved New HD recognized by device manager but not by Computer

I installed a 2nd hard drive and Vista found its drivers. The drive is showing up in Device Manager but I can't figure out how to access it. No letter is assigned to it. If I look under 'computer', C is my original drive, D is the recovery drive & E is the DVD/CD drive. No other drives are listed. Device Manager reports the drive is working properly. What am I missing here? :confused:

Have you accessed it through the manage utility and formated NTFS/SIMPLE/BASIC and assigned a drive letter?

Start>right click "computer", click manage>click "disk Management"

No. I'm dumb about this. Last time I installed a 2nd HDD was Win '95 and my recollection is the 2nd drive just showed up & I was able to format it via a run/cmd/DOS window. What is the 'manage utility'? I tried searching Vista help and got a bunch of stuff that doesn't quite look like its relevant. Maybe this is what I'm missing??

click image to enlarge- right click the added drive, click format. format to NTFS/SIMPLE/BASIC, and then assign drive letter.

Okay...thanks for your guidance. The drive is now completely operational. I needed to be pushed to the management function and you pushed me!!
