Turned off computer whilst downloading updates! woops!

My battery died whilst updating and is now causing problems!

I cant download manually?? the download is recognised but then just freezes? there are loads of updates to download and i have tried downloading in order of date but still just freezes??

is it possible to remove service pack 2 and then download again??

please help:huh:

Rule #1 - never do system work whilst running on the battery - LOL


Did that happen whilst you were trying to install SP2? If not, I would just let it go. The updates will probably come back automatically.

it has been an ongoing problem for about four months and has not rectified itself, will try to reset winodws updates components then reply. thanks guys and will deff stick to rule 1 from now on!!!

there are 47 updates to download, i have tried to download them singlular but download starts then freezes about half way through the download? not sure what to do?

Did you try the steps that I gave you?
Boot the computer. If it works correctly, go back with system restore to three days before you started the downloads. Reset the update components per my prior post.
Then do one at a time.

have done system restore and used the fix download on aggresive, updates are wiped clean then when chck for updates comes up with about 45 yupdates. some can be downloaded but others just freeze and dns client has stopped working message pops up. then have to reset computer n try again???

Sometimes we miss the forrest because of the trees.
Run a FULL scan anti virus
and
Download and run a FULL scan of Malwarebytes
Then report back.

also try a clean boot

see how it works in safe mode, too. But try clean boot first. That may diagnose and even solve.

I mentioned the antivirus just a short while ago. It takes an hour for the full scan and atl least half an hour for the full malware scan. Did you do the full scans?

thanks for the attachment it ran ok, unfortunately didnt work :(

i have ran full system scans for virus and malware, have completed system error check and still have no solution???

the updates download ok but as soon as instalation starts a pop up window with DNS Client has stopped working appears and the update freezes, also when clicking on stop instalation this has no effect, then have to reboot laptop??

im at a loose end as my laptop seems to be running fine possibly a little slow but having major issues with th instalation of goddam updates!!! ready to smash my laptop!! please help
