Chrome Support for XP and Vista Ends in April 2016

Earlier this year, we announced that Google Chrome would continue support for Windows XP through the remainder of 2015. At that time, we strongly encouraged users on older, unsupported platforms such as Windows XP to update to a supported, secure operating system. Such older platforms are missing critical security updates and have a greater potential to be infected by viruses and malware.

Today, we’re announcing the end of Chrome’s support for Windows XP, as well as Windows Vista, and Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8, since these platforms are no longer actively supported by Microsoft and Apple. Starting April 2016, Chrome will continue to function on these platforms but will no longer receive updates and security fixes.

If you are still on one of these unsupported platforms, we encourage you to move to a newer operating system to ensure that you continue to receive the latest Chrome versions and features.

I read this on the Ten Forums. I'm not a Chrome user, but I'm surprised that the rest of the Vista users on this forum (yes, both of them) aren't enraged by this news.

Maybe Google would change their minds if one of us installed Chrome? (Not me though: I'm just learning to like this newfangled Firefox.) Beginning January 12, 2016, Vista will be the only OS on which a version of IE earlier than 11 is still supported (aren't we special?) The way I figure it, Vista is the most secure OS because the latest malware has never been tested on it.

I think on Windows Server 2012 (classic - for which there is no upgrade path) you're stuck at IE 10. Windows 8 Classic can upgrade to Windows 8.1

I'm happy for the news because Google Chrome was made purely as a tool for spying on us, in my opinion, and messing up the Internet with WebKit.
I'm using IE and Pale Moon and it works really well so I don't see why so many like Chrome. Normal Fx is terrible because it tried being a Chrome clone.
