OK - I am having the same problem but when I follow your directions I can not turn the firewal on. Everything is ghosted and it says that some settings are controlled by group policy. I have no clue what this means...my friend installed and takes care of my IT stuff but moved and now I am on my own and In the Dark with all of this...
Thanks!

Hi InTheDark,

Welcome to the forum.

Are you using Windows Firewall or another 3rd party firewall?
Is it ghosted (grayed) out with the notifications enabled?

I do not think this is your only problem. It sounds like you have a setting in the Local Group Policy Editor configured wrong.

Can you describe your problem with anymore details?

Shawn
