Actually, maybe not.

I've also had one or two "server not found" errors this week, and a couple of "database errors".

But then again, I have Telkom SA providing my ADSL line, so there's no real surprise there, and we don't have any other choice - either we use Telkom, or we go without.

The database error happens unsualy once a day for two minutes when the mysql crashes then restarts (I'm still trying to track the cause down), although is might sort itself out when we move to new windows 2008 servers.

The site not found, i've had no problems and the logs dont show any drop in traffic, so I would put that down to a local isp dns issue.

Like I said - Telkom SA is running the show here.

How much are you paying for a 384Kbit ADSL line, that is capped at 1GB for foreign hosted sites, and 30GB for locally hosted sites (which for us is pretty pointless, because EVERYTHING of consequence is hosted on foreign servers)?

R152 for a 384Kbit line, R 699 for a 4096Kbit ADSL line only - and then ISP costs must be added. a 3GB cap costs in the region of R1500. Added together, thats R 1652 - or with the current exchange to of R15/£1 that's £110 for a 3GB capped 384Kbit line....
