Hello:
My old pc hard-drive blew out about a year & half ago; it also was getting outdated, so I went to Best Buy to buy new pc. I purchased an emachine.
When taking to salesperson I bought upgrade emach with just 1 ram. The basic emachine just came with half a gig of ram.
What he didn't tell me was Vista takes half a ram, & there is only 2 slots for total of 2 gigs of ram.
I just broke the pc seal to look inside, & I'm stuck at 2 Ram.
There are games like Empire, Witcher, etc,, that will run choppy, or slow; is there a way to cut Vista os window Ram use to run the games?
Thanks for any help in this area.
Sincerely,
Max
P.S. Emach. is now selling there're pc with minium 3 gigs ram.

Well depending on the OS you have 32 bit or 64 you have plenty of options with 2 slots.

On 32 bit vista you can only go 4gb max so two, 2Gb sticks =4Gb would be fine. Also real cheap on newegg.com

Hello:
I have a EMach T5062, Vista 32. The website you gave me does not list this model for 2gb per slot of ram, for each slot. This machine has 2 slots, when I opened it up, there was half gig in each slot = one gig. for pc.

What got me confused was I called a BestBuy & the guy I talked to told me he could put 4 GB Ram in with no problem. I get mixed messages about this, so I thought maybe 2GB of Ram in each slot gives the 4 GB Ram. But, when I checked around to buy ram on-line, it didn't come as 2GB sticks, just 1 GB per stick, which btw I just put in 1 gb per slot. I did see that the manufacturer's site said 2GB limit, but from some people telling me it can be upgraded to 4GB; I got confused.
If 4 GB Ram can be put into this pc I sure like to know where to buy it?
If I'm stuck at 2gb ram; I download a game demo that states: 1gb ram xp, 2gb ram vista: everytime I've downloaded a game demo that states this, it still runs slow &\or choppy.
What games should I be ok with ram size? I'm stuck with 2gb ram, so what is the ram limit in my situation?
Thanks.
