Can't seem to get them right for VOIP in BF2142....what volume levels are you guys using? I come in crystal clear in Windows Sound Recorder, but it sounds weird in BF2142....squad mates can't always hear me either.
Also, in XP I used to be able to hear everything with my headset plugged in...for example, I could tap the headset and hear a loud thumping noise, but this disappeared when I installed the WDM drivers from Windows Update. I only have the driver, but no WDM.....so I have to hear my own breathing in my 5.1 speakers when I play....really annoying.
Why is their feedback? USed to be that I couldn't hear myself through the speakers.
Anyhow, your thoughts/suggestions please.

You can stop the breathing on the speakers by changing your sound levels. I forget which volume setting it is, but it is where you adjust the volume to the speakers from various inputs. You want the speakers to get everything EXCEPT your mic. When you breathe in it, it will only broadcast to your speakers if it is not muted. You can mute them one at a time and test until you find the one going to the speakers. That way it will still be heard in game, but you wont hear it over the speakers. You might also want to turn down your pickup sensitivity or fellow players will hear you like Darth Vader.
