WU Error CF2E222F

Hello,

I was wondering if anybody could help me with some Windows Update issues. I have been trying to install SQL Server 2008 SP1 for several weeks now, and I keep getting error CF2E222F. Whilst trying to fix this, I ran CheckSUR twice, however, while this was running, we had a power cut. This has corrupted something else and now CheckSUR will not start! I now get an error for this. I cannot remember the error off hand, but I am re-downloading it to see if all I have done is corrupt the file. I will report back. However, on the first run, CheckSUR reported no errors.

Also, ever since this started, I have checked for updates with success, but no more updates have been shown for days. I have not had an update for nearly a week, even though Windows keeps checking with success. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Richard

EDIT: Downloaded new CheckSUR. I now get no error, but after hours of operation, there is still nothing happening. It is just installing and installing and installing and installing and installing... It usually only takes 15-25 minutes on this computer.

Maybe it is OK then (apart from the SQL Server 2008 SP1) Looking back, there has been a Windows Defender definition update. Thanks for the heads up.

Look at both links How to: View and Read SQL Server Setup Log Files
and How to: View and Read SQL Server Setup Log Files

Attache to post all errors from folder %programfiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log\<YYYYMMDD_HHMM>

Hello,

Thanks very much for the response. I will do that in a few days, but I am currently on a short 3-4 day break and not near that Desktop. Thanks again!

Richard

A couple of months ago something deleted the entire contents of my C:\Windows\Installer folder causing immense damage. If I were to reinstall SQL Server, then the SP1 would install properly. (Downloading now)
