Word 2007 Connection

Hi, I am having an issue with Word 2007 and its dictionary/thesaurus toolbar that requires an internet connection. I don't think I am simply having internet problems as all browsers run smoothly, but as I write this post, the dictionary/thesaurus option in Word 2007 just hangs on the message 'Searching...'. It doesn't say anthing like 'the connection couldn't be established' it simply stalls, then says 'The service did not respond'

Any reason why this may be? Any advice or solutions? Will an update fix it?

Try this
Open Word 2007
click on the Office Button
Click on Word Options
Proofing
Custom dictionaries
uncheck Custom Dictionaries
Go to Dictionary language
pick English US
Ok
shut down restart
