After some searching, I'm coming up with nothing to help me with this problem, so I thought you fine folks may be able to.
I set up a new Cisco router here, and after I got it to play nice with the modem and got the wireless set up, my Vista machine could not connect to the internet through the wireless. Through ethernet it works fine. The XP machine connects fine. The Vista machine will connect to the network but has local access only and will not identify it. It labels it as unidentified network and calls it a public network. I tried changing the settings to private, but it just resets it afterward. I've tried restoring Windows to before I set up the network, to no avail. Deleting and re-creating the connection produces similar results. I've reinstalled drivers, so it's not an issue there. Also, it's not in the card itself as it works fine in Linux on the same machine.
I've got a HP Pavilion dv6000 running Vista Home Premium 32bit.
Any Ideas?
