I would try to go to the Atheros site and download their latest driver for your card and OS there. CD's are known to have old drivers that while they may work well, they may not work well when combined with newer software or applications. Make sure you download to a folder you can get into later on.

After getting the new driver version, I would go to device manager>yellow "!">driver tab>Update Driver and find the new driver you just downloaded and install from there.

If this doesn't work, reboot, go to the downloaded driver folder, Uncompress if Zip or Rar file, right click on the .exe file and then, click on "Run as Administrator".

Hopefully, one of these two methods can get you going, if not, come back to tell us what happens and hopefully, I can lend a hand or others more experienced members can lend a hand.

Windows 7 provides a generic Wireless USB LAN driver.

Select "Locate and install a driver manually" from the "Update Driver" button from the Driver Properties in Device Manager

This worked for my Linksys USB wireless Adapter in Windows 7 64bit.
