winload.exe problem

Ok, my computer has been to alot last three days. First I came home, turned on the computer, and zomg! Blue screen at log in. That freaked me out.

I tried restarting it, but the screen was just completly black when it came to log in everytime. So I then started trying to fix it. Did all sorts of checks, but nothing worked.
Ended up reinstalling vista, but keeping my old files.

Then it worked for an hour or so. Next morning, when I started it, this came up: "File:Windows/system32/winload.exe It couldn't be loaded because it's missing or is broken".

It says I should put the vista installation disc inside, then repair it, but it doesn't "notice" that I've put the cd inside. It doesnt seem like it's being detected.

Now how on earth can I fix this?

Hello inkystinky,
You will need to go to your Bios (press "del" at bootup), and set the boot order.
Set it so that the 1st boot device is the DVD drive .
Reboot and boot from disc when you get the prompt.

ok so I did everything you said, managed to reinstall everything and it was up working again. I started reinstalling stuff, then all the suddon: BLUE SCREEN AGAIN!

There must be something seriously wrong with the computer?

Could you fill out your system specs, and what is it you are installing when it blue screens ?.
It could be something as simple as a driver, it doesn't mean your PC is about to die.
Don't forget to change your Bios back to default when you have finished.

What else is there to add? (THe computer just keeps crashing, so can't check :P )

And I was installing the DSL when it crashed (I apperantly have to do that to connect to internet) Then I managed to restart the computer, but seconds later it crashed. (And I wasn't doing anything).

So I'm not sure what the problem is. Next time I'll read the error message if there is one.

I got the blue screen again, but it was up for 0.5seconds. No chance of reading what it says.

could you go into c:\windows\minidump, zip the dump file (*.dmp) and upload it to us so that we can take a look. If you cant find it in minidump search for *.dmp

Can't seem to find it.

Search for .dmp files by pressing F3 to open a searh window and upload them or take a look at the guide in my sig. You could also check the advanced system properties link to determine where the files are stored.

Nope. I can't seem to fix it. I think I'll send it back to where I bought it, and get them to fix it... Thanks anyways though.
