Windows Update Error...

Hello again, sorry to keep bugging you all...

I have another problem! My computer's Updates installed completely fine. But when I had
to restart it, my computer was fine until I reached the Configuring Updates Screen. It

always shows " Stage 3 of 3 - 0%
Please do NOT turn off your computer "

It just stayed there, and after a few moments, it said " Shutting Down... "! And it actually restarted my computer!

If anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it!

I have an Acer Aspire 5515, AMD Athlon 64 ( Though my computer is 32-bit ) and Windows Vista Home Basic.

Well, I don't have the vista CD, and while it was downloading updates, my computer was being de-fragmented, so I'm not sure if that helps... Please... I need help!

If you don't have a repair cd - you can download an .iso on a working computer and burn it to an unformatted cd-r as an image with an isoburner.

Download Windows 7 System Recovery Discs — The NeoSmart Files

Get the same bit version as your Vista installation.

Boot the cd to system recovery options ( select "Repair My Computer" when you get to the Install now screen - it's at the bottom of that screen).

After it has searched for installations, click Next and select System Restore.

Choose a point before the update.

I gave you already link to burn special recovery disk for Vista which you can use instead Vista DVD,for Win 7 recovery disk (@SIW2 post) you can also use it on Vista.Next time please thoroughly read posts and attached links .
