Windows Update causes Registry_Error

I seem not to be able to solve this by myself now as it has me stumped.

Simply put, I can't install ANY Windows updates, every single one (listed below) causes me to get a BSOD message when Windows loads, saying REGISTRY_ERROR or the other message I got from some was about the Registry not able to access some file in system32 "hive" file.

The updates I have tried are:

Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - May 2009
Update for IE8 Compatability View List
Update for Windows Junk E-mail Filter - May 2009
Security Update for Microsoft Office Powerpoint 2007

I have tried each one individually and none seem to work. It's only after I reboot or turn off the PC, it installs fine, then when I next boot, it goes in to a BSOD loop. The only way I can fix it is go in Safe Mode and do a system restore to before it installed them.

What do I do now? Just disable updates?

Specs:

OS: Windows (TM) Vista Ultimate Professional 6.00.6001 Service Pack 1
Mainboard: Gigabyte EP45-UD3P
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2400 MHz
Physical Memory: 4096 MB (2 x 2048 DDR2-SDRAM)
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS

Any help greatly appreciated.

All fixed,

For future refrence for anyone else who may encounter this problem. This is how I fixed it.

I installed the latest Video, Sound and LAN drivers from the official website, and it no longer rebooted itself (or BSOD) when I install updates. I have no idea why it would of caused it, but it fixed it.
