I'm running Vista 64 (SP2) and am having an issue with "Previewing" or opening graphic images in "Windows Photo Gallery". When Windows Explorer rests on a graphics image, the bottom pane of Explorer shows a thumbnail of the image along with some of the image's properties. This part still works but nothing much happens when I either click the image to open it or right-click it and select "Preview". Actually, something flashes briefly on the taskbar (file name and photo gallery icon) but not long enough to make out what it's saying.
I can change the "Opens with" to "Microsoft Office Picture Manager" and everything works ok but what is going on with "Windows Photo Gallery"? I've installed the Windows Live version of Windows Photo Gallery but that didn't change anything so I uninstalled it.
Windows Photo Gallery does start and run from the Start Menu but not from Windows Explorer (It looks like it wants to start but then immediately shuts down)
Maybe there's some way to uninstall and then reinstall Windows Photo Gallery?
Any ideas?
