windows media -player wont accept blank discs

I'm a first time audio burner. Vista home premium.Windows media player version 11.0.6002.18311.
I can rip and play songs just fine, but when I try to burn the songs the disc is ejected "Insert blank disc in CD drive" All kinds of discs are ejected (CD-R, CDRW, DVD) I'm using memorex CD-R 52x. I have the audio disc selected under burn. Thanks in advance

Hello, have you checked for any Microsoft Updates, maybe you need one ?

Some things to try-

Go to the drive manufacturer's website and check for a driver update and download/install if available. If you have a laptop, you should probably check at the laptop vendor's support site.

You could try putting the disc in the drive before you start WMP.
