I recommend you contact your e-mail provider's technical support group by phone and have then walk you through the setup process step-by-step and don't let them off the phone until you can send and received emails with Windows Mail. Most are happy to do this. Chances are you have some setting wrong and they will find it and then you'll be fine. They can help much more than us as we don't know the proper settings for your e-mail provider (and they all vary) and this sounds much more like a setup problem than a problem with Windows Mail, Vista, your ISP connection, or your computer.

I feel sure they will be able to help you.

Good luck!

In addition to the above, you can go to the ISP website (you said ATT) and find the correct POP setting there. I have ATT DSL and I went to ATT site and got the information.
ATT has many subs, they have them in the South and Midwest (where you seem to be located), and elsewhere, each company has different set up instructions.

If you want help just post the name of your provider (ATT, SNET, Midwest Bell, etc) and depending who sees it first (Lorien, me or another member) I am sure they will try to help.

In Lieu of that you can follow the previous post. Its up to you.
