Windows Mail Temperature Spike

I am using Windows Mail under Vista x64. Each time I bring up my e-mail, my CPU temperature jumps 10 deg C - e.g., from 37C to 47C.

What causes such a large temperature spike and what can I do to reduce or eliminate that big temperature spike?

Jake, since I never heard of such a problem, may I suggest the following:
Make a clean boot and see if Windows mail still causes the problem. If not, it is not WM that is the cause but WMs interaction with other software
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
Follow Clean Boot Procedure if it appears that other software is, also responsibile.

If it is Windows Mail, make a system restore point. And try using another Mail Client.
Thunderbird is Good

If you do not like it or the problem is not solved you can go back with the System Restore Point that you made.

It can also be that your readings are not correct, try to download and use speedfan to record temp.

The only cause that I can think of is that with WM your fan speed does not work or does not attain the proper speed.
