Windows Mail Issue

I can receive email, but not send it. I have two accounts and the both use the same settings, but i only get this error with one of the accounts. I've seen other people with the same problem, but the solutions offered to them don't work for me. I'm now at my wit's end.

If you are using two different email providers, ie yahoo and msn. The one that does not work may not accept mail sent through WLM. The work around is to use the send information as provided by your ISP (from website) and use the return address of your choosing.

No, both email addresses are with verizon.

Try two things, then. First, check every single port and other information to be sure it is correct.

If it is, I would delete the bad account, then make a new one copying the entries from the first. This does two things, fix a corrupted account, insure that all entries are correct.

How do i check the port? And when deleting the account, am i just removing it from Windows Mail, or do i actually have to go through verizon and delete the entire thing.

It will be just from WLM.
Tools>accounts remove (hightlight the account to remove)

Tool accounts, click on the account that is good. Then look under the tabs for the settings.

Deleting and remaking the account didn't work. And all the port info seems to be the same between the two accounts.

Basically, you need to change your outbound port from the default of 25 to 587.

@ richc46: It worked just fine for years. It stopped working about a week ago.

Look under all the tabs, not just port. The email address, tick boxes. I sense that is where the problem is, it has happend to me. If you come back again and tell me you checked every tab and every entry, I will have to give this some thought and hopefully I or another will have an answer.

Yeah, everything appears to be identical in every tab for both accounts.

Does the email provider have a rule only one pop3 account per person?
