Windows mail HELP!

The file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Create Associations control panel. -this is what I receive when I click on a link in my Windows Mail. It just started doing this today. I have had no previous problems with it. I have not downloaded any mail programs either. Its only showing Windows Mail as my only mail program and that it is default. Please help!
