Windows Mail Folders missing

Hi, when I checked my computer today I discovered that my imported folders list is no longer showing up in Windows Mail. It is not just hidden, it has completely disappeared. It does not even show up when I check under my appdata user profile in the C: drive.
Any ideas where it may have gone? It contains about 10 years of important emails.

i can sugguest you to do a system restore back to the date when all was working fine.. depending if you have a restore point on your computer..

what antivirus are you running? do you have it set up to filter emails?

Hi, I use Kaspersky. I have used it for years with no problem. I have read that antivirus may cause problems. I would remove it, but now that the folder is gone there is not much point. I can't seem to find the missing folder anywhere.

hmm the files should normally be there
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Local Folders\Sent Items
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Local Folders...

HI, thanks for the advice. I ran the recover program and it was able to locate the files. Unfortunately they are almost all unrecoverable. Live and learn I guess. Form now on, more frequent backups.

so you mean you have not been able to recover the files?

Yes I am unable to recover most of the files. I was able to copy them back to my external drive but for the most part the are all unreadable. Only one in ten is still intact. The rest are just gibberish.
