Hi. I'm having a problem with the Windows Installer Service on my pc which has Vista x64 installed. Some updates that are downloaded successfully via window update like the GFWL 3.5 will not install because it cannot find the relevent .msi file(s) i.e "The feature you are trying to use is on a network/CD-ROM......". I can manually direct the installer to the file(s) but it cannot acess them for some reason. None of the files are on any other computer on my network or on any CDs/DVDs. In Programs and Features there are programs without their corresponding icons down the lefthand side, just an icon of a blank page and when I click to remove them (no change or repair option) I get the same error message as when Windows Update tries to install updates after they have successfully downloaded.
Thanks for any help
