This is something I found to be really very confusing. I finished Windows Vista setup (finally), and then, I find out that the network icon on my laptop remained red, implying that it was disabled. I tried tapping on it to enable it again, but it was as if it really just didn't have wifi. Also, I found that there was no Aero either. It's not that I'm trying to run Windows Vista off of a 90's laptop, and it's weird because the laptop says it's designed for Vista.
Is there anyone here that has had this happen to them, or can help me?
The Aero feature is available when the Graphics driver is installed in the computer.
Download and save the latest version of the Graphics drivers from the vendor’s webcsite and then install the drivers. Also, here is the link to enable Aero feature on the computer: How to Turn on Aero in Windows Vista: 7 steps - wikiHow
For WiFi, ensure the wireless drivers are installed.
Well, I made sure that the graphics driver was in there. I also made sure that the wireless drivers were there, too.
Not only that - I replaced the hard drive, since the other one told me that it failed. I thought that it would work if I were to replace the hard drive, but it looks like it didn't.
If issue persists, please go to device manager and find Network Adapter. Click on the ‘+’ sign of network adapter and it would show you the name of network adapter. Please provide the name of the Network Adapter.
If it does not have any network adapter model number listed, then check for an option that says “Other Devices”. Provide the details under Other Devices.
